ASBESTOS TESTING

The MA DEP requires the asbestos testing of all suspect asbestos materials prior to their disturbance by renovation procedures. Some materials that can contain asbestos include pipe, boiler insulation, wall/ceiling plaster, joint compound, ceiling tiles, ceiling tile glue, floor tiles, floor tile mastic, roofing materials, and window caulking & glazing. Proper sampling of these materials is conducted by our MA DLS licensed Asbestos Inspectors using various government regulated protocols.

From the asbestos inspection we can then develop a safe and cost effective plan to remove the identified asbestos materials and develop a scope of work and assist the client in getting bids from qualified contractors for the abatement services. Intact asbestos materials can also remain in place and monitored which can also be a possible response based on the project.

We are also a MA DLS licensed Asbestos Analytical Laboratory capable of collecting and analyzing air samples using Phase Contract Microscopy (PCM). Our laboratory has been a successful participant in the American Industrial Hygiene Association's Proficiency Analytical Testing (P.A.T) program since 1992. Our air sampling and project oversight services during abatement procedures ensures, and documents, that no workers or building occupants are exposed to unsafe levels of asbestos fibers. Our goal is to provide you with the due diligence to understand what your environmental liabilities are and also provide you the assistance and oversight to successfully complete your project from the assessment phase to completion.

Dan Slowe is equipped with 25 years of experience to provide expert testimony involving asbestos related legal matters.

LEAD PAINT TESTING

OSHA regulations require that no workers are exposed to dangerous levels of lead dust on any commercial or residential construction projects. The disposal of lead paint chips, and some building components, are regulated based on sampling results. We can assist in the assessment of painted surfaces prior to renovation procedures to identify lead paint. Our services then involve the development of safe removal protocols to control and collect the lead dust so no workers are exposed to dangerous airborne lead levels. The abatement plan to protect the workers is combined with protecting building occupants and the general public. We can also conduct lead paint inspections of residential properties for compliance with the Childhood Lead Paint Poisoning.
